The AAP published their Circumcision Policy Statement in Pediatrics, Vol. 103 No. 3 March 1999, pp. 686-693. The Policy states, "Existing scientific evidence demonstrates potential medical benefits of newborn male circumcision; however, these data are not sufficient to recommend routine neonatal circumcision."
