Dorsal Nerves
The terminal branch of the pudendal nerve which connects to the skin of the penis, the foreskin, the corpora cavernosa, and the glans.
Dorsal Slit
A single cut made from the tip of the foreskin, back towards the glans. The cut is a crude form of posthioplasty, and used to relieve phimosis as well as being part of freehand, <
Dorsal Veins (Deep and Superficial)
A pair of large veins that run along the top (dorsal) side of the penis.
DTR
The DTR™ (Dual Tension Restorer) is a bi-directional, tapeless restoration device that creates tension on the foreskin by pushing against the glans, while pulling on a small fold of the foreskin.

Epidermis
The outer layer of the skin.
Epispadias
A condition in which the meatus points upward rather than forward. Typically does not require treatment if urinary flow is not obstructed. May also be iatrogenic, if the glans is cut during circumcision.
FGM - Female Genital Mutilation
The cutting of the female genitals.
Fibroblast
A type of cell that generates long structural proteins that link cells together.
FIG - Fear, Ignorance and Greed
Fear, Ignorance, and Greed are the three primary motivations for circumcision.
Fistula
A tubular complication of circumcision, as when a skin bridge is open underneath, or an additional hole is cut in the urethra.
Flaccid
The soft state of the penis, where it is also the smallest in both length and girth, as opposed to the fully erect penis. Typically, the glans is only fully covered by the foreskin when the penis is flaccid. See Grower and Shower.
Fold
The end of the intact penis, where the outer foreskin folds inward and transitions into the inner skin.
FOREBALLS
FOREBALLS™ is a restoration device that creates tension on the foreskin by its weight. It is taped to the remaining foreskin.
Foreskin
The foreskin is a retractable double-layered fold of skin and mucous membrane that covers the glans penis and protects the urinary meatus when the penis is not erect. It is also described as the prepuce, a technically broader term that also includes the clitoral hood in women, to which the foreskin is embryonically homologous.
Foreskin Natural Restorer (formerly the R2K)
Foreskin Natural Restorer is a bi-directional restoration device that creates tension on the foreskin by pushing against the glans, while pulling on a small fold of the foreskin. This device uses tape to secure the foreskin to the puller.
Foreskin Regression
The re-covering of the glans by the foreskin remnant in older men who have had a low and/or loose circumcision, caused by the natural shrinking of the penis. In some cases and in cold conditions, this may lead to the appearance of intactness.
FR - Foreskin Restoration
Foreskin Restoration is a process for creating a reasonable facsimile of the natural foreskin.
Freehand
A method of circumcision in which the doctor uses just a scapel to remove the foreskin.
Frenar Band
The Frenar band (or ridged band) is a group of soft ridges near the junction of the inner and outer foreskin.
